Course Learning Outcomes

1. Students will analyze scientific evidence and media representations to critically evaluate the interconnected economic, social, political, environmental, and ethical impacts of our global food system.       
2. Students will examine how food and agriculture have shaped—and continue to shape—human culture, identity, and civilization across time and place.
3. Students will critically evaluate sources to distinguish credible information from misinformation about food and agriculture and effectively communicate informed perspectives on food-related issues through writing and discussion.
4. Students will apply critical thinking skills to envision and advocate for sustainable, equitable, and ethical solutions to the challenges facing future global food systems.
