Applied Sciences, Technology and EducationCollege of Agriculture & Natural Resources
Course Learning Outcomes
1. Identify and evaluate construction materials (wood and metal) for agricultural structures based on accepted industry and engineering standards (ASABE, ASTM, WWPA).
2. Calculate material requirements and acceptable load limits for agricultural structures, demonstrating quantitative proficiency in construction and design.
3. Apply psychrometric and thermodynamic principles to formulate effective environmental control and maintenance recommendations for livestock and commodity storage structures.
4. Interpret structural evaluation data and select building components that comply with relevant code requirements.
