Course Learning Outcomes
1. Students will recognize the key domains of global food production (i.e., supply chains and distribution systems) and identify the security dimensions and challenges affecting food systems.
2. Students will analyze the complexities of the four pillars of food insecurity and interpret how those complexities are affected by economic, social, environmental, political, and geographical factors.
3. Students will compose frameworks and practice assessing the complexities of food security within relevant dimensions (i.e., agricultural science, climate, sociology, anthropology, international relations) that identify and synthesize weaknesses and potential interventions.
4. Students will interpret the sociocultural value of agriculture from global perspectives.
5. Students will demonstrate rigorous subject-area research, analysis, and writing skills to the substantive subject matter of the course.
