Course Learning Outcomes
1. Students will recall key domains in biosecurity and use current case studies from across a range of fields and problem sets to synthesize the scope of risk and system resiliencies.
2. Students will compose frameworks and practice assessing the complexities of biosecurity prevention, they will formulate potential solutions for biological threats, including natural outbreaks and deliberate acts.
3. Students will prepare oral and written statements on ethical dilemmas such as public health, scientific research, private property, and individual rights regarding biosecurity across a range of fields and disciplines.
4. Students will reflect on the average citizen's role and critically assess the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders, such as governments, research institutions, industries, and non-governmental organizations, in promoting effective biosecurity measures.
5. Students will demonstrate rigorous subject-area research, analysis, and writing skills to the substantive subject matter of the course.
