Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify and explain the major systems of the Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft, including electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and engine systems. 

  2. Demonstrate understanding of reciprocating engine and propeller operation as they relate to aircraft performance and flight operations. 

  3. Describe the function and operation of primary and secondary flight controls and associated landing gear systems. 

  4. Explain the purpose and operation of large-aircraft systems, including cabin environmental controls and fire detection and protection systems. 

  5. Apply system knowledge to practical flight scenarios, interpreting aircraft indications and responding appropriately to system malfunctions or warnings.
