Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in all Private and Commercial Pilot flight maneuvers to the standards outlined in the FAA Flight Instructor Airman Certification Standards (ACS). 

  2. Effectively teach, demonstrate, and evaluate flight maneuvers and procedures from both the left and right seat, using appropriate instructional techniques and communication strategies. 

  3. Apply the Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) in the flight environment to enhance student learning, motivation, and performance. 

  4. Conduct preflight, in-flight, and postflight briefings that effectively communicate lesson objectives, performance standards, and safety considerations. 

  5. Identify, analyze, and correct student pilot errors through clear demonstration, guided practice, and constructive feedback. 

  6. Integrate risk management and aeronautical decision-making (ADM) into all instructional activities, modeling sound judgment and safety practices. 

  7. Demonstrate readiness for the FAA Certified Flight Instructor practical test (check ride) by meeting or exceeding all performance and instructional proficiency standards.
