Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Select and apply composite materials appropriately based on mechanical properties, tensile strength, and intended aerospace applications. 

  2. Demonstrate proficiency in composite fabrication techniques, including hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, autoclave curing, filament winding, and hot wire foam cutting. 

  3. Identify, analyze, and repair defects in composite structures to ensure structural integrity and compliance with aviation standards. 

  4. Perform proper handling, storage, finishing, and machining of composite materials while adhering to safety protocols. 

  5. Apply testing methods and inspection techniques to evaluate composite materials and fabricated components for quality and airworthiness.
