Course Learning Outcomes
Students taking Utah Stories will complete four interrelated units:
Regional History and Context: Focuses on settlement history, demographics, biodiversity, folklore and traditions, geography and ecology, recreation, and industry.
Connections to Place: Allows students to explore their personal and familial connections to place while examining the complex concepts of home, place, space, and migration.
Contemporary Issues: Students survey their communities/regions to identify relevant issues for further study. They conduct research and make connections between these issues and their gained knowledge of the history and life of their region.
Community Conversation: Students design a presentation targeting specific audiences—such as schools or businesses or peers—to share their knowledge with their wider community.
