  1. Understand the science underpinning energy production from hydrocarbons, nuclear fission/fusion, geothermal, solar and wind sources

  2. Understand basic concepts of science and risk that underscores the imperative to transition rapidly from fossil to renewable energy

  3. Understand the economic, policy and social dynamics that accompany that transition

  4. Engage in civil dialogue with fellow students on energy-related topics

  5. Apply simple algebraic principles to energy calculations
