Course Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the foundational meaning and philosophical context of Yoga as presented in classical texts, particularly The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
2. Identify and describe the Eight Limbs of Yoga and analyze how each limb contributes to holistic well-being and self-development.
3. Interpret and apply the ethical principles of the Yamas and Niyamas to personal life situations and contemporary social contexts.
4. Demonstrate foundational proficiency in the meaning of asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), and meditation practices, including natural, diaphragmatic, and Ujjayi breath.
5. Reflect critically and creatively on personal experiences with yoga philosophy and practice through artistic or written expression.
6. Synthesize knowledge of yoga philosophy and embodied practice into a cohesive personal framework for lifelong learning, self-awareness, and mindful living. 7. Prepare to teach yoga in public and private settings by integrating ethical guidelines, effective communication, and adaptive teaching methodologies in alignment with Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certification standards.
