Course Learning Outcomes

1. Identify and accurately use key anatomical and physiological terminology relevant to the study and practice of yoga.
2. Locate and describe the major structures and systems of the human body, including the musculoskeletal, nervous, and respiratory systems.
3. Explain how yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation influence physiological processes and contribute to overall health and balance.
4. Analyze the anatomical alignment and primary muscle actions involved in foundational yoga postures and sequences.
5. Demonstrate embodied understanding of anatomical principles through mindful movement, breath awareness, and self-observation.
6. Apply anatomical and physiological knowledge to design and adapt yoga practices that promote safety, effectiveness, and personal transformation.
7. Synthesize course knowledge into a personal case study that reflects awareness of anatomical function, self-practice, and experiential learning throughout the semester.                                                                                                                                                                                                    8. Prepare to teach yoga in public and private settings by integrating ethical guidelines, effective communication, and adaptive teaching methodologies in alignment with Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certification standards.
