Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Use basic elements of design and explain their relationship to landscape architecture.
Develop two- and three-dimensional design models to explore form and spatial relationships.
Apply design theory to materials of landform, vegetation, water, and architecture.
Describe and use the four actions of the design process—Looking, Thinking, Doing, and Reflecting—in their own work.
Build and use a basic design vocabulary drawn from lectures, readings, and visual examples.
Translate abstract design concepts into concrete design exercises and projects.
Use a design journal/sketchbook to document process, test ideas, and reflect on their own design thinking.
