1. To help students understand the growing epidemics of despair and incivility in our country and how these are impacting satisfaction, attendance, turnover, conflicts, productivity, and increased medical costs for organizations.
2. To help students explore and discover their implicit biases and judgements of others (with the Harvard Implicit Association Tests) and how these can impact their interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and performance in their careers.
3. To give students a set of research based tools to increase their personal happiness, improve their relationships, and enhance their civil behavior in teams, organizations, and communities.
4. To help students understand that success in life does not guarantee happiness: rather, enhancing personal happiness is a key driver of success in life, relationships, and careers. |
