Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will gain knowledge of the terminology used in food analysis.

  2. Students will learn relevant procedures and equipment.

  3. Students will become familiar with precision and accuracy through experiences with components of analysis and reporting results.

  4. Students will utilize various separation and quantification techniques frequently used for food analysis.

  5. Students will gain experience with proximate analysis of foods.

  6. Students will understand how food analysis fits into the food industry.

  7. Students will become aware of how analytical techniques may be used to determine food composition and quality.

  8. Students will learn the proper selection and application of appropriate methods of analysis.
