1. Most importantly, to preclude you being a weather-related flight statistic.
2. To create a personal level of meteorological knowledge to the extent that you feel comfortable answering aviation students’ questions on weather and weather products.
3. To give you the confidence, as a ground school instructor, to teach meteorology rather than just showing a video.
4. To prepare you for the meteorology questions that are contained in the FAA (or other countries’ aviation authorities) certification exams (many are included in the database of questions used for quizzes and examinations).
