Course Learning Outcomes

1. Learn to think critically about correlational and experimental data that inform the field of positive psychology.
2. Learn how the evolutionary heritage of our species affects our happiness, our values, and our needs.
3. Learn how a range of variables can impact human happiness and wellbeing (e.g., wealth, health, status, and social relations).
4. Acquire skills to improve your attention, your social relationships, and your relationship with your own thoughts.
5. Become aware of “happiness traps” that humans routinely fall into but can be avoided.
6. Learn how form new habits that can positively impact your wellbeing.
7. Conduct a multi-week experiment, with your own wellbeing serving as the dependent variable.
