Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology of the swallow mechanism across the lifespan. 

  2. Describe and demonstrate assessment techniques for pediatric and adult dysphagia.  

  3. Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment and progress data to plan and evaluate interventions for individuals with dysphagia across the lifespan.   

  4. Describe and apply knowledge about ethical considerations and professional issues affecting assessment and treatment of individuals with dysphagia.
