Course Learning Outcomes
1. Describe the broad history and contemporary manifestation of horse cultures’ religious traditions, as well as the details of at least one community’s.
2. Explain different ways in which horse-keeping communities’ religious identities shape and respond to larger worldviews and to factors such as colonialism, racialism, nationalism, and economies.
3. Articulate the variety of socio-religious responses to biologically required, and thus broadly shared, necessities of horse-keeping and range of horse usage.
4. Closely read and critically analyze primary texts and scholarly writings.
