1. Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the Mongol Empire’s historical significance, particularly in relation to religious dynamics and cultural interactions across Eurasia.
2. Students will critically read primary source material from the period and contextualize it from the perspective of course lectures and modern studies.
3. Students will closely read and critique secondary scholarly literature on the history of the Mongols and become familiar with debates in the field.
4. Students will compare and contrast the religious landscapes before, during, and after Mongol rule in Eurasia.
