Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop explicit instruction lessons for functional, life, and daily living skills that address the unique needs of students with complex support needs.

  2. Apply evidence-based teaching strategies to effectively support individuals with complex support needs in school and community settings.

  3. Design and adapt curricular materials to teach functional academic skills using research-based instructional methods.
    Implement applied assignments and practicum activities that integrate theory with practice in authentic classroom settings.

  4. Assess student learning and utilize ongoing data collection to make informed, data-based instructional decisions.

  5. Collaborate to ensure cohesive and comprehensive educational experiences for students with complex support needs across settings and service providers.

  6. Design and organize classroom environments and schedules that promote accessibility, engagement, and independence for all learners.
