1. Acquire a basic vocabulary of terms used in the nutrition field.
2. Understand the relationship between nutrition, anatomy, and physiology of domestic animals.
3. Understand the six major nutrient classes and the role each plays in meeting the specific nutrient requirements of each animal and/or stage of production.
4. Know how to read and understand nutrient requirement tables and feeding guidelines for each of the different domestic animal species.
5. Understand nutrition principles and feeding practices as they apply to a practicing veterinarian.
