Course Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the major gross, histologic, and clinical pathologic lesions of diseases of the hepatopancreatic, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.
2. Describe the life cycles and pathogenesis of infectious diseases of the hepatopancreatic, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems, including pertinent viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
3. Describe the major toxins and associated pathogenesis of the hepatopancreatic, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.
4. List the major pharmacological drugs or drug categories used in the hepatopancreatic, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems, being able to describe the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of each drug.
5. Identify normal structures and features using common imaging modalities, and describe common lesions and changes within the hepatopancreatic, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.
