Course Learning Outcomes
Assess preventive medicine protocols for zoological and wildlife species, including vaccination strategies, parasite control, quarantine procedures, and nutritional management.
Explain how taxonomy, anatomy, and physiology influence the clinical presentation, diagnostic approach, and therapeutic management of zoological and wildlife species.
Perform systematic clinical workups of zoological and wildlife cases, including history taking, physical examination, problem list generation, and diagnostic planning.
Participate in and prepare for clinical procedures (e.g., restraint, anesthesia, diagnostic sampling, minor treatments) under faculty supervision with attention to animal welfare and safety.
Develop and practice case management skills by contributing to treatment planning, monitoring, and follow-up of clinical cases.
Accurately document medical information using appropriate zoological and wildlife medical record-keeping systems in compliance with institutional and legal standards.
