Bachelor of Science Mathematics and Science Track
History Major Requirements (36 credits)
Minimum GPA for Graduation: 2.75, Major; 2.0, Cumulative Number of Required Credits: 36 Major requirement courses may not be taken pass/fail. History Major Lower-Division Requirements
History majors must complete at least three introductory survey courses, two required methods courses, and a number of upper-division electives. Students may count up to 12 credits of lower-division coursework in history toward the history major. Complete the following lower-division survey course requirements in sections A, B and C with a grade of C or better in each class, for a total of 9 credits. A. European Perspectives (3 credits)
Complete ONE of the following courses: B. World Perspectives (3 credits)
Complete ONE of the following courses: C. American Perspectives (3 credits)
Complete ONE of the following courses: History Required Methods Courses (6 credits)
After satisfying the lower-division major requirements, students will complete two required methods courses (HIST 3000 and HIST 4990 ), and they must earn a C+ grade or better in each class to earn credit toward the major. History Upper-Division Course Electives (21 credits)
Students take their remaining 21 credits in 3000- and 4000-level history courses (with a grade of C or better in each class). The upper-division classes provide a more focused, detailed and rigorous examination of historical periods and themes. Any course with a HIST prefix at 3000 or above is acceptable as an elective. No more than 3 credits of HIST 4930 may be applied toward the major. Bachelor of Science Mathematics and Science Track
Students interested in a BS degree must complete 17 credits in statistics, science, and/or math. In all instances, a grade of C- or better is required for any math or science course to be applied toward a BS degree. Students who minor in a science field will fulfill the BS requirement through their minor. Students may not count any course taken to fulfill a basic General Education science requirement (BLS, BPS) toward the History BS track.

Statewide Campus Students: Please complete 9 credits of the following science courses: BIOL 3010 , BIOL 3040 , GEO 3100 , GEO 3250 , GEO 3300 , PHYS 3020 , and PHYS 3030 . *If at all possible, if your location offers the science series that Logan Campus students are required to take, please choose that option first. B. Additional Required Courses (6 credits)
Choose at least 6 additional credits in math or science, 3 of which are required to be in either statistics or social science statistics: Requirement for a Minor
Since the study of history requires an understanding of many fields of human behavior, students majoring in history must select a minor. These may include related disciplines such as religious studies, literature, economics, geography, anthropology, political science, sociology, classics, philosophy, and foreign languages, or students may choose a minor in any other program on campus. Students who minor in a science field will fulfill the Mathematics and Science Track requirements of the BS degree through their minor. Minor requirement courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C (or higher, depending on minor requirements).
