American Studies Minor

American Studies minors must meet and maintain a 2.75 GPA admissions and graduation standard.

Students are required to complete the following:


(3) one 3000- or 4000-level ENGL or HIST course


(listed in section B and C of the Course Requirements, in the American Studies, BA  or American Studies, BS )

In addition, students must also complete 12 credits of upper-division coursework


These courses can be drawn from two cognate areas (listed in section D of the Course Requirements in the American Studies, BA  or American Studies, BS ). These courses of study must be approved by the Director of American Studies or by the American Studies advisor (contact HASS Advising, Taggart Student Center 302) at least one year in advance of graduation.

Note:


Courses used to fulfill requirements for the English and History majors may not be used for the American Studies minor.
