In addition to meeting the MAcc Core Requirements, students must complete requirements for one of the following focus areas, which includes two elective courses.
Two additional approved elective courses (6 credits)
Two additional approved elective courses (6 credits)
Complete 9 credit hours of DATA-designated classes at the 5000 or 6000 level. Recommended courses for this focus area are:

In addition to the required PFP specialization courses, students must also complete, or have previously completed, FIN 4460 and FIN 6090 or their equivalents, to qualify to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examination.
Or courses chosen from the other focus area. Students may also select elective courses from other departments within the Huntsman School of Business based on student experience, interests, and career path choices, subject to advisor approval. Common elective courses come from DATA or FIN-prefix courses.
MAcc Application by Non-Accounting/Non-Business Degree Holders
Prerequisites for the Master of Accounting degree include courses in the Huntsman School of Business Acumen Requirements and the Undergraduate Accounting Major Requirements (21 credits). Before applying, it is recommended that applicants consult with the School of Accountancy MAcc director/graduate advisor.
