The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program requires completion of 90 semester credits across an 11-semester course of study. The curriculum includes required academic coursework, clinical practicum, and a full-time fourth-year externship.

Students must progress through the program in accordance with departmental academic and clinical standards. Advancement within the program is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance, completion of required clinical experiences, and adherence to professional conduct expectations.

All students are required to:

Take and pass all required coursework and practicum experiences.
Take and pass the program’s Preliminary Examination during the second year of study.
Take and pass the program’s Comprehensive Examination during the third year of study.
Take and pass the Praxis Examination in Audiology and provide official score notification to the department prior to graduation.
Complete the required clinical research project.
Complete a full-time fourth-year clinical externship.

Graduate School Requirements

• Degree Verification: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or a similarly recognized international university is required for admission to and completion of a graduate program. An official transcript must be sent directly to the School of Graduate Studies
• Overall Graduate GPA at least 3.0 and no grades of C- or lower: Graduate students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for degree-program courses. Grades of C- or lower will not be accepted for a graduate degree.
• Course Number Acceptability: The program of study for a master’s degree cannot include more than 12 semester credits of courses at the 5000 level. Credits in the following areas are not acceptable in a degree program: foreign languages (unless included in an approved Program of Study), continuing graduate advisement, individual home study, military science, and courses numbered below 5000.
• Matriculation Start Semester: A master’s degree must be completed within six years of entering the degree program. Additional time may be requested by the student’s advisor and submitted to the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies for review.
• Coursework Validity: Coursework over eight years old at the time of degree completion may not be used for a graduate degree unless it is revalidated by the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies.
• Master’s forms: Approval of the Program of Study is required by the School of Graduate Studies.
