Important Notes for WL&C Major with Chinese Emphasis only:
course is a required transition course for all students without extensive experience in a Mandarin-speaking environment. course must be taken after course and before course. Students should take course (unless waived), then course, then course before taking other advanced, upper-division CHIN courses. Students with at least one year of immersive Mandarin experience may potentially waive course and/or course, based on USU language testing score. Please consult World Languages & Cultures advisor. Cantonese speakers are still required to take course.
Bridge program students should consult with a World Languages and Cultures Advisor. Bridge courses course, course, and course count toward the Major Emphasis.
Courses for teaching emphases and the teaching minors may be subject to change, and students should contact the Secondary Education Advising Office for a current course list of STEP requirements.
Licensure Notification
This program typically leads to licensure and was designed to meet licensing qualifications in the state of Utah.
