Graduate students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for degree-program courses. Grades of C- or lower will not be accepted for a graduate degree.
A master’s degree must be completed within six years of entering the degree program. Additional time may be requested by the student’s committee and submitted to the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies for review.
This degree requires 30 credits of coursework. At least 18 credits must be at 6000 level or above, excluding course and course (Continuing Graduate Advisement) with no more than 12 credits allowed at the 5000 level. Credits below the 5000 level are not acceptable for a graduate degree.
No more than 12 transfer credits may be used toward a graduate degree.

The Statistics emphasis of the MData program requires at least 30 credits total, including 12 credits with either a STAT or DSAI prefix. At least 18 of the 30 credits must be from courses at the 6000-level or above. The degree allows for a “stackable credential” approach, where two post-baccalaureate certificates can be combined to complete most of the requirements. Course substitutions may be approved on an individual basis.
