About this Degree

The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL), in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services (CEHS), offers a doctoral program to earn a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum& Instruction (C & I). As a professional doctorate for practitioners, the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) equips educators with the tools to implement tangible changes within their professional environments, enhancing educational outcomes. Admission Requirements for this Program

Please follow the 5 steps for admissions:

  1. Complete USU Graduate School Application

  2. Three letters of recommendation. All letters should address the student’s potential for successful graduate study.

  3. A copy of an official transcript from each previously attended college and/or university (except Utah State University). The official transcript must show the master's degree verified (the degree has been awarded and shows the award/conferral date on the transcript). A Master’s degree in education or closely related field (e.g., Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences) is preferred. A minimum, cumulative GPA 3.0 or above for highest degree verified.

  4. A Curriculum Vitae that shows evidence of at least two years of successful experience in teaching.

  5. Statement of purpose essay (500 words). Please review the TEAL admissions website for directions.

International applicants are expected to follow the School of Graduate Studies application requirements, including completion of the English Language Proficiency Test.
