In addition to the core coursework required to develop the professional skills and competency to practice Environmental Planning, the degree program is structured to provide students with opportunities to differentiate themselves in the professional marketplace according to their interests and aptitudes.  Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning degree should complete a Certificate of Proficiency or Minor.  The following are suggested LAEP certificates and minors which may be completed within the 120 credit requirement for the degree:

  • Advanced Design, Geospatial, and Visualization Technologies

  • Design Entrepreneurship

  • Digital Modeling and Visualization

  • Landscape Architecture - Minor

  • Sustainable Systems – Minor

Other certificates and minors may potentially be completed within the 120 credit requirement for the degree, including:

  • Environmental Justice

  • Social Dimensions of Climate Change

  • Social Dimensions of Climate Change and Environmental Justice - Minor

Students seeking an alternate Certificate of Proficiency or Minor from the USU Catalog should consult with their Academic Advisor to declare a certificate or minor and make a plan to complete all degree requirements without extending beyond the 120 credits required to earn the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning degree.
