• All courses require a grade of C- or higher.

• The P/D+, D, F grading option may not be used in required courses completed as part of Engineering Foundations or a pre-professional program. (The P/D+, D, F grading option is approved for University Studies Courses.)

*Students must take a minimum of 9 credit hours (3 courses) worth of aerospace technical electives. If a student takes ENGR1010 in their first 30 credits of the Pre-Professional Program, they are only required to take 6 credit hours (2 courses) worth of aerospace technical electives.

For Mechanical Engineering major- Aerospace emphasis in the professional program the following academic regulations apply, in addition to University regulations:

• A Cumulative USU GPA of 2.0 or higher is required in all upper-division required and technical elective courses. Courses which were part of the pre-professional program requirements and University Studies courses are not included in this GPA calculation.

• All courses require a grade of C- or higher.

• No more than one total repeat is allowed for each required or technical elective course. Courses completed as part of a pre-professional program are not included in this total. Audits count as a time taking a class and will be counted towards repeats. 

• Students must take a minimum of 9 credit hours (3 courses) worth of aerospace technical electives. If a student takes ENGR1010 in their first 30 credits of the Pre-Professional Program, they are only required to take 6 credit hours (2 courses) worth of aerospace technical electives.

*Students must take either course or course to fulfill the major requirements. The course that is used to fulfill the major requirements will not also fulfill the technical elective requirement; students must take an additional course from the specified list to fulfill the technical elective requirement.

One aerospace technical elective course must be completed from the Supplemental aerospace technical elective list.

The other aerospace technical elective courses must be completed from the Supplemental or Breadth aerospace technical elective lists.

Total elective credit is determined by General Education courses taken, degree type selected, additional credits earned, and any additional math or other prerequisite courses needed. Please consult your Academic Advisor for details.
