NOTE:

  1. Breadth Social Sciences (BSS) - take 6 credits

  2. Quantitative Literacy (QL) requirement - course or course is preferred.


Students should apply for the major according to the preferred application timeline listed on the website once they have completed, or are currently enrolled, in all required pre-program courses. Additionally, students will complete the Advanced Placement Test (APT) during finals week of the semester prior to beginning the program after successful completion of pre-program courses and admission to the program.

Notes: Students will complete a practicum after successful completion of all practice courses. The practicum placement process is initiated and coordinated by the program and includes an orientation and opportunities for student input. Students DO NOT establish their own practicum placement. Additionally, students will complete the General Practice Test (GPT) during finals week of the semester prior to beginning their practicum.

A total of nine elective credits must be completed. At least two of these electives must be in Social Work, and one upper-division (3000-level or higher) elective may be taken outside of the Social Work department (ANTH, CMST, CJ, HDFS, POLS, PSY, SOC).
