About this Degree

This minor is for students who want to work toward the Utah Department of Health and Human Services centennial to serve children with disabilities (0-3) and their families in the Baby Watch Early Intervention Program.

This minor is available to students in any major, providing admission requirements are met. The minor would be especially useful to majors in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Kinesiology, Health Education and Promotion, and Social Work. Students must apply for the Special Education Minor through the Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling Department. The minimum GPA for admission is 3.0. Students must earn a B- or higher in each required course.

Admission Requirements for this Program

Admission requirements include a 2.0 GPA, a USBE Educator Background Check and First Aid/CPR certification.
