Program Learning Outcomes
Objectives:
1- Students will explore the origin, philosophy, and development of the juvenile justice system, focusing on the nature of juvenile law and the guiding principles that shape the system.
2- Students will analyze the impact of poverty and violence on children, examining the changing American family and the systems, including the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Systems, that affect children's well-being.
3- Students will examine the juvenile justice system with a focus on law and procedure, exploring the distinctions between juvenile and adult systems, and analyze major social problems affecting youth today, including substance abuse, unemployment, education, and mental health.
