Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Students complete all of the courses in this section with a final grade of C or better to receive a composite teaching endorsement in Technology & Engineering Education upon program completion and licensure with the Utah State Board of Education.

-OR-

Students may submit for substitution and approved certificate from a Utah technical college to receive and associated Career and Technical Education teaching endorsement upon program completion and licensure with the Utah State Board of Education. Up to 30 credits of technical college credit may be substituted for an equivalent number of Technology and Engineering Foundations course credits. For this option, the endorsement received after graduation and licensure depends on the technical college certificates applied.

All students entering the Technology & Engineering Education program should consult with their academic advisor to determine which option is best for their goals.

Two credits of TEE 2000 are required. TEE 2000 is repeatable for credit.

Some Content Area Enhancement courses may help meet requirements for additional teaching endorsements after receiving a teaching license. Please consult with your academic advisor for details when selecting these courses.

Earn at least 9 credits from the following:

For admission to STEP, students must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher, a major GPA of 3.0 or higher, have earned a grade of C+ or better in course or course, have earned a grade of C or better in at least three general education breadth courses as well as all major required courses, and have completed a background check.

STEP courses must be passed with a grade of C or better, or a P if the course is offered Pass/Fail only. An overall GPA of 3.0 is required for graduation.

Total elective credit is determined by General Education courses taken, degree type selected, additional credits earned, and any additional math or other prerequisite courses needed. Please consult your Academic Advisor for details.

Licensure Notification

This program typically leads to licensure and was designed to meet licensing qualifications in the state of Utah. If students wish to work in another state within the United States, they should review the qualifications for that state and the Education Licensure Compliance Table provided by School of Teacher Education and Leadership.
