Students select appropriate courses from the following seven categories (A-G) to develop their programs of study.

Fulfill ANY of the following requirements:

Complete the following:

3-credit 6000-level course in English or Communication. Doctoral students may take a one-week ENGL summer credit workshop at the graduate level with the approval of their supervisory committee; however, summer workshops are not covered by tuition waiver. 

Complete the following:

3-credit course at the graduate level in a department outside Communication (course selection requires supervisory committee approval).

NOTE:

  1. course (must pass comprehensive exam and successfully defend dissertation proposal before registering for course). With dissertation committee chair approval, a 3-credit elective may substitute for 3 credits of course.

The following courses may be taken as electives when available but are not required. They can count toward categories A, B, and C, if approved by TCR faculty.
