About this Degree
Students in the French program explore the language and many cultures of the francophone world. Students in French develop durable skills for the global workplace, such as communications skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and presentation skills, and increase their language proficiency level. Students may choose from a wide range of courses taught in French, ranging from Business French, to current events and culture, to courses in film, literature, music, translation, and more. The program offers many opportunities, such as a USU summer Study Abroad program in France, a very active student French Club and Conversation Hour, free French tutoring, French-specific scholarships to apply for, support applying for exchange and internship programs in the US and abroad, and more.

Admission Requirements for This Program
GPA: New freshmen: 3.0 GPA for Licensure track only; Transfer students from other institutions or other programs at USU: 3.0 GPA. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 through graduation. Pass the USBE background check. Complete admission core course requirements (see STEP application). World Languages and Cultures majors/minors-obtain required OPI exam score prior to admission.
