Total Credits Required To Earn This Credential
To be admitted to the pre-professional program, students must:
- Have an engineering foundations GPA of 2.80 or higher in the foundations engineering courses, NOT including course or course
- Pass all of the courses in the foundations engineering program with a C- or better
To be admitted to the professional program, students must:
- Have a pre-professional GPA of 2.30 or higher in the pre-professional courses and engineering foundations courses, NOT including course or course
- Pass all of the courses in the pre-professional engineering program with a C- or better
To maintain eligibility in the professional program, students must:
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher in the professional courses. This GPA includes any engineering, math, and science courses required for or used to fulfill required electives in this major. Courses which were part of the pre-professional program requirements and university studies courses are not included in this GPA calculation.
- Pass all of the required courses in the professional engineering program with a C- or better. This includes any engineering, math, and science courses that are applied toward meeting graduation requirements.
- Have no more than three repeats total from required or elective courses completed as part of a professional program in order to meet graduation requirements. Courses completed as part of the pre-professional program are not included in this total of three repeats.
- Use the standard letter grading for all professional level courses. The P/D+, D, F grading option may not be used in required or elective courses completed as part of a professional program (the P/D+, D, F grading option is approved for University Studies Courses).
Students must take two classes (6 credits) of Biological Engineering Electives. Students may choose from the following elective courses.
There are two options to fulfill this requirement:
1. Students can take an additional (3 credit) biological engineering elective listed in Biological Engineering Electives (not already used).
2. Students can take at least three credits from the list below.
Students must take 5 credits of approved technical electives listed below. Other classes may be considered to count as technical electives that are not on the list. Students will need to go through their academic advisor to seek approval of the non-listed technical elective through the department.
-Any CS course above CS 1400 fulfills a technical elective
