Completion requirement
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete ALL of the following Courses:

NOTE:

  1. course - complete 1 credit.

  2. course - complete 12 credits.

AND

Ph. D. students must pass one of these 1-credit courses at least three times during their program of study.

Complete at least 3 of the following Courses:
AND

PhD Students must complete 9 total credits of a demonstrated breadth of knowledge in Ecology. Students must take 3 credits from at least three of the five Ecology Blocks:

Complete 3 credits from three of the five blocks below:

• Block #1: Biophysical Ecology
• Block #2: Organismic, Population, and Evolutionary Ecology
• Block #3: Community, Ecosystem, and Landscape Ecology
• Block #4: Quantitative Ecology
• Block #5: Human Ecology

Students are advised to discuss course options with their Graduate Program Coordinator to fulfill block requirements. For a list of courses qualifying under these blocks, please visit our website.

AND

Remaining credits to reach 30 credit hours (minimum) fulfilled via:

• Graduate level coursework (6000 and above)
• No more than 12 credits of 5000-5990 level courses

Completion requirement

The PhD (post-baccalaureate) program requires a minimum of 60 credit hours. 

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Optional Climate Adaptation Science Specialization

Ecology majors who are housed in the Department of Biology have the option of adding a specialization in Climate Adaptation Science to appear on their transcript upon completion. To opt for this specialization, students must declare this to their home department (Biology). Please use specialization code CLAD.
